Antelope Valley School

This country is full of abandoned school buildings. Some have only recently closed, and others have been closed for decades. They plot the slow, steady de-population of vast areas of the Great Plains.

The laughter of children may be only distant echoes, but some folks apparently think the schools make good canvasses. It's a strange, and very un-urban form of graffiti.

Saw a bit of that depopulation when I drove through the region. It is depressing. Nice "graffiti" though.

That's exactly where I'd like to live. No people means few problems.

Not having anybody around you brings its own problems, but I do love the isolation. I suppose at some point I will be too old to maintain this lifestyle, but I still got a ways to go. Hell, I only turned 70 last week. A kid! 20 more good years at least before I have to think about moving ten or so miles closer to town. I hate the thought!
