It's official: spring is here. And the local weather is... well, doing its spring-time thing. The last three days have been brilliant: warm, sunny, and relatively calm. Today it's 75° and the sun is wonderful.
But the beeper just went off. There is now an official severe winter storm warning for Monday and Tuesday. Heavy snow and high winds are expected. We can really get pounded well into April, and even later, so it's not entirely unexpected.
I guess I better keep the snow shovel on the front deck and get some fire-wood handy.

I'll think of ya today, as I pack up a few Mauser's and head off to the match.
Summer's coming soon enough, and another Winter past.
Maybe this is the last blast, and then you can enjoy spring and summer.
They just upgraded from a "winter storm watch" to a "blizzard warning."
Bring it on!
Weather there sounds really bad. I know, being on satellite myself, that you may be knocked off line during the storm. If you can get on, put something up so we know you are ok. One of the big drawbacks of being on your own is the unexpected , fluky accident.
Thanks, Hermit, all is well so far. The first storm bypassed us, swinging east instead of south-east about fifty miles north of us. Now there's another really big fellow hovering above us and looks like he's headed this way. Not so much snow in this forecast, though, but some pretty high winds expected. Maybe this one will swing east as well. If it doesn't, I'm about as prepared as anybody could be.
Glad all is well. Living alone has big advantages, but it has a few vulnerabilities as well.
